The technology needs of the national criminal justice system continue to evolve as a result of factors that include the events of September 11, 2001. The national focus on improving technology integration and information sharing as well as understanding the emergence of the internet as a potential justice information carrier are now recognized as critical concerns directly related to out homeland and national security. The continuing development of domestic justice integrated information system implementation processes and management capacities to support this evolution are fundamental to address these concerns.

The Center for Society, Law & Justice (CSLJ) at the University of New Orleans serves as a technical assistance provider to deliver criminal justice training and technical assistance to Local Law Enforcement Block Grant (LLEBG) recipients and other Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) targeted audiences in support of effective technology application/implementation practices. CSLJ is currently delivering three tuition free seminars on behalf of BJA for national audiences.
